To Dine...Whitewater is an adventure for your taste buds. Chinese, Italian, Mexican and American are all well represented, as well as a plentitude of fast food options for those meals on the go. Whitewater celebrates Wisconsin's favorites with a micro-brewery and several Friday Night Fish Fry specials at the area restaurants.

To Relax... Visitors can choose from many lodging places, all conveniently located. The AmeriHost Inn and Suites and the Super 8 offer hotel amenities. Two historic homes offer a more "elegant" setting, Hamilton House Bed & Breakfast and Victoria on Main Bed & Breakfast. Want a secluded vacation? To Have Fun ...Whitewater is a popular tourist destination for visitors of all ages. With a wide variety of attractions, Whitewater has something for visitors seeking adventure or relaxtion.

  • Biking - Discover the on-road and off-road bike trails, nestled in the heart of the Kettle Moraine. Bike enthusiasts are guaranteed a challenging and exciting time while peddling along the John Muir and Emma Carlin trails. For those who prefer a more relaxing ride, check out the Glacial Drumlin trail.
  • Cravath Lake Waterfront - Enjoy the peaceful surroundings at Whitewater's Cravath Lakefront Park, the perfect place to enjoy a family picnic or a fishing excursion. In the winter enjoy ice-skating or fishing and in the summer pull up your blanket for a Concert in the Park or a Family Fun Night. Cravath Lakefront Park is also the home to our annual 4th of July celebration.
  • Cross Country Skiing & Hiking - Admire nature's beauty while hiking and gliding through Wisconsin's spectacular scenery. Explore the serenity of the Nordic Trails.
  • Fishing - Cast your line into one of our four lakes; Cravath, Rice, Tripp or Whitewater. Ranging in size from 68 acres to 640 acres, Whitewater's lakes are the perfect place to find smallmouth and largemouth bass, panfish, northern pike and walleye.
  • Flowing Well - Visitors come from miles around to quench their thirst at the refreshing Artesian well located two miles south on Clover Valley Road. The water is free and has been flowing steadily since 1895.
  • Indian Mounds Park - On the west side of town, where 30 Native American huts once stood. This unique effigy mound park is believed to have been constructed from 200AD to 1200AD.
  • Kettle Moraine State Forest - The glacial topography of the Kettle Moraine is distinctive. It features parallel, steep sided ridges, conical hills, kettle-like depressions and flat out-wash plains. The Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest covers 21,000 acres stretching through southern Wisconsin. It attracts thousands of visitors to bike, swim, camp, study nature, hike, horseback ride, ski, hunt, fish and enjoy outdoor recreation.
  • Mercy Fitness and Whitewater Aquatic Center - 30,000 square feet of aquatic fund and adventure for the whole family. The Mercy Fitness and Whitewater Aquatic Center feature a three story, 120 foot long waterslide, leisure pool, lap pool, lazy river, play structure, whirlpool and group fitness classes. The state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio equipment, free motion exercise equipment, free weights, fitness classes and personal training services.
  • Rotary Skate Park - If you are looking for a Super Box with a rollin' square, a piano ledge, an angled wall ride, or a street spine, you might be looking for the Rotary Skate Park. Located at the Brewery Hill Park, the Rotary Skate Park offers a three ramp structure on a 62' x 145' concrete pad for skaters and bicyclists.
  • Water Ski Shows - On the south shore of Whitewater Lake (just off of Townline Road) the Minneiska Ski Team performs. Free shows are held generally on Saturday evenings from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
  • Whitewater Historical Tour - Take a historic tour of Whitewater. Revel in the architecture of the late 1800's and transform yourself back in time. Maps are available at the Chamber office.
  • The Arts... The Whitewater Arts Alliance proudly displays Whitewater's passion for the arts throughout the city. Many internationally known artists have called Whitewater their home including: Edward S. Curtis, Stephen Ambrose, Leon Pescheret, Ben McCready, Cousin Otto, Fran Achen, Vern and Steve Meisner. Recognizing the abundance of artists working and creating in the Whitewater area, The Whitewater Arts Alliance, Inc. formed in 2004. Their mission is to promote the visual and performing arts through an alliance of artists, individuals, educational resources, and organizations to promote creativity and diversity that will serve to educate and enrich the lives of the residents in the Whitewater community and surrounding areas. Their first project was to repaint the Prairie Tillers Mural by artist Caryl Yasko during the summer of 2004. Building on the enthusiasm and energy created by this project, the Whitewater Arts Alliance sponsored the Fountain to Fountain Arts Festival and the public arts project. Watch for the the Butterfly project in 2008. The Whitewater Arts Alliance meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at 7PM at the Cravath Lakefront Building and are open to all.
