What products/services do you offer?
The mission of First Citizens State Bank is provide a broad range of high quality financial services to the residents of Whitewater, Palmyra, East Troy & the surrounding trade areas. While we offer a wide range of consumer products, we also have a variety of business products to help everyday needs. We offer a number of treasury management products to help manage your deposits including remote deposit capture, sweeps, and ACH payroll management. First Citizens State Bank is also an SBA preferred lender, working with an assortment of programs to help Small Businesses. We realize the uniqueness of each business, and work closely with you to determine the best options available.
Why did you choose to join the Whitewater Chamber of Commerce?
We find that the chamber has helped to reach out to the business community in many ways. The Chamber offers trainings, webinars, and networking events, which are a great way to learn and get to know our “neighbors.” We also enjoy working with the Chamber through a variety of fund raising events to give back to the community.
What benefits have you received through your membership?
We have received several benefits through our membership with the Chamber – networking with other business, new account leads, trainings, and this – putting members in the “Spotlight”.

Who do you serve? Who is your target market?
Our goal is to provide products so that we can grow with our customers. We want to fit the needs of a broad spectrum of customers from children opening their first savings accounts to first time homebuyers to new retirees. We have a variety of products to help accomplish this which includes Online Banking and our Mobile Ap. Through this technology you can deposit checks, use Zelle ® (a person-to-person money transfer service available through our Mobility Ap) and apply for a mortgage online. Technology is ever changing, and so are we.
Who is the team?
At First Citizens, we feel that everyone works as a team. We all are crossed trained and are able to help with all your requests.
Why did you choose Whitewater?
First Citizens State Bank has been a member of the Whitewater Community for over 150 years. Whitewater is a diverse community with many different groups to offer our wide variety of financial services.
Who or what is a good referral for you?
We enjoy helping anyone who may have a financial need. Whether setting up an account, loan for a business, Trust, Insurance, or Investments we are here to serve you.
What was your company's latest and greatest achievement?
- In January, we were selected to be one out of 110 financial institutions to test a pilot program by The Federal Reserve, called FedNowSM . This new program would allow financial institutions to facilitate instant payments nationwide.
- We are a Preferred Lender for The Small Business Administration. This allows us to approve requests in house, and reduce turnaround time. Most recently, for the Paycheck Protection Program we did over $13 million loans to help local businesses. With 2,100 local jobs impacted, with an average loan size of $84,450. We are currently accepting applications for the Paycheck Protection Program, and will be until the program has expired.

We are excited to be a part of the Whitewater, East Troy, Palmyra and surrounding communities, and are proud to be one of the few Community Banks in Walworth County that is locally owned and operated. Are any of your employees alumni/alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater? Do You collaborate or partner with the university?
Yes. We work closely with UW-Whitewater as a number of our hires are current students or alumni. We have also made past presentations in the business school, with many of our employees serving on UW Whitewater committees.
